Local veteran awarded the War Service Medal

The Washington Crossing Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) awarded the SAR War Service Medal to Compatriot Daniel Stevens Ross, Jr.  The medal with a Vietnam War Veterans Corps Certificate was awarded by Chapter Veteran Committee Chairman Bill Hampton at a chapter dinner meeting at Giuseppe’s Restaurant in Richboro on October 14.  Ross served in the Army from 1968 to 1971 and in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971 as an infantry platoon officer.  He was awarded numerous medals, including the National Defense Service, the Army Commendation, the Vietnam Campaign, the Vietnam Service, the Bronze Star, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
