Sauers Cares evolves into Drive and Thrive: A new chapter in community transportation support

Posted

Sauers Cares, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families in need, is proud to announce its transition to Drive and Thrive. This new name reflects the organization’s sharpened focus on addressing transportation barriers that impact self-sufficiency and quality of life.

Since its founding in 2019, Sauers Cares has been committed to identifying and fulfilling the needs of local nonprofits and community members. By leveraging partnerships, resources, and volunteer efforts, the organization has supported a wide range of causes, from housing and food security to mental health initiatives. Over the years, one recurring challenge stood out, the critical need for reliable transportation. Whether it was helping individuals get to work, medical appointments, or other essential services, the lack of accessible and affordable transportation programs created significant barriers for many in our community.

In response to this growing need, Sauers Cares has evolved into Drive and Thrive, a nonprofit organization solely dedicated to providing transportation programs that empower individuals to achieve independence and stability. Through this transformation, Drive and Thrive will continue to build upon its strong foundation while focusing on three core programs:

  1. Empower Wheels Free Car Clinic: A free car clinic offering general maintenance to underprivileged adults, ensuring their vehicles remain safe and reliable.
  2. Critical Repair Program: A program providing essential vehicle repairs and inspections to individuals facing financial hardships, ensuring they have safe and dependable transportation.
  3. Fuel Assistance Program: A support initiative that helps individuals cover fuel costs, enabling them to access employment, medical care, and other vital services.

“Transportation is a fundamental need that directly impacts an individual’s ability to thrive,” said Stephanie Sauers Boyd, Founder and Executive Director of Drive and Thrive. “By refining our mission and programs, we are committed to breaking down these barriers and helping our community move forward literally and figuratively.”

Drive and Thrive remains deeply rooted in its commitment to Bucks and Montgomery counties and looks forward to expanding its impact with the support of donors, volunteers, and community partners.
