Morrisville Council Team highlights progress ahead of election

Posted

As Election Day approaches, Council incumbent candidates Luke McKee, Dennis Kinney, Helen Hlahol, and Mayor Gary Wallace are highlighting real progress made in the Borough over the past two years.

The team points to results that directly improve daily life. This includes hiring a Chief of Police, strengthening public safety resources and community policing; launching an ambitious road-repaving program that will repave all of our local streets, replacing old street signs; reducing truck traffic; and addressing long-standing issues like the deteriorating Stockham Building and the Senior Center parking lot. Council also updated ordinances on truck weight limits, definitions of smoke shops, store front signage, and fireworks.

At no cost to residents, Council has sponsored family events such as the Easter Egg Hunt, National Night Out, and Trunk or Treat. Several revitalization projects are under discussion including studies for traffic signals, traffic-calming measures, a boat dock, expanded levee trail, and parking deck. The new Manor Park Playground has been completed. Planned recreation improvements in Williamson Park include partnering with the USTA for tennis courts and Blue Cross/Blue Shield for a workout area.

Progress is more than a word; it is getting results. While some focus on negativity and criticism, this incumbent Council team points to their positive achievements that benefit our residents and enhance our town.  They caution that reversing course could mean stalled projects, higher taxes, and lost opportunities.

This election is about keeping Morrisville moving forward—building on real progress, protecting taxpayers, and creating a stronger community for all.
