The Friends of the Doylestown Library is hosting these two free programs at the library in November:

Wednesday, November 5, 6:30 -8 pm – The popular Open ‘Mic’ Poetry Night is back, with open readings moderated by Dr. Tom Mallouk, Bucks County Poet Laureate Emeritus and author of several books including “Rupture/Repair”. The theme for the open ‘mic’ session is “The Path of Kindness”. Poets of all ages are welcome to read their original writings and/or listen to others' work reflecting the theme. Readers should pre-register by emailing: friendsofdoylestownlibrary@gmail.com

Saturday, November 15, 2 - 3 pm – A Visit with Geroge Washington, hosted by the Friends of the Doylestown Library, will feature stories told, in character, by Curt Radabaugh, who will portray the nation’s first president. The program is part of the collaboration between the Friends and DHS’ USA250 Lecture Series celebrating the 250th birthday of our nation.

Both programs, which promote civic and social literacy, will be held in the Pearl Buck Room of the Doylestown Library, 150 S. Pine St.

The Friends of the Doylestown Library is a non-profit organization, supporting the Doylestown Library, which strives to align its programs to the five literacies of PA Forward, the Pennsylvania Library Association’s 21st Century Literacies Initiative.
