Flowers by Jennie Lynne continues to bloom with success as owner and floral designer Heather Towne AIFD recently received the prestigious honor of being selected for the 24-member design team for the First Lady’s Luncheon in Washington, D.C. This highly anticipated annual event, now in its 112th year, is hosted by the 117-year-old bipartisan Congressional Club, which fosters friendship through service. Heather’s involvement highlights her remarkable talent and dedication to the floral industry.

Designers were selected through Certified American Grown, an organization dedicated to promoting U.S.-grown flowers and foliage. Every bloom used in the event was donated by flower farms across all 50 states, making it a true reflection of national beauty and collaboration.  A proud advocate of supporting local and American growers, Heather designed with Certified American Grown Flowers for the luncheon, emphasizing her commitment to sustainability and homegrown beauty, bringing national recognition to Flowers by Jennie Lynne.

The accolades don’t stop there. Two of the shop’s talented designers, Linda Bogarde and Lisa McDermott, have recently achieved CFD (Certified Floral Designer) status, a significant milestone in the floral design profession. This certification, awarded by the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), recognizes their technical skills, creativity, and professionalism.

The dedication of Heather, Linda, and Lisa exemplifies the high standards Flowers by Jennie Lynne maintains. Their collective achievements showcase the shop’s commitment to ongoing education, excellence in design, and leadership in the floral community.
