Corinne Doyle: A potter with passion

Posted

Tyler Park Center for the Arts is ushering in spring with an array of exciting workshops in glass, fine art, fiber, Ukrainian egg decorating, and pottery. On April 6, from 1 - 4 pm, the center will host a Free Community Day, inviting participants to drop in and explore their creativity. Meet community partners like Friends of Tyler and Golden-Thread Labyrinths, experience the meditative practice of walking a labyrinth, and create take-home crafts while connecting with the talented instructors and volunteers who make the arts thrive in Bucks County.

Among these dedicated instructors is Corinne Doyle, a beloved pottery teacher and skilled potter at Earth Center Pottery. Corinne will be on hand during the event and will also showcase her wheel-thrown pottery at the annual Members Art Show from June 6 - 8. Reflecting on her craft, Corinne shared, “First and foremost, it’s the Earth. The very act of working with clay is a connection to our planet. To create beautiful works of art that can also be used in everyday life is extremely satisfying.”

Corinne’s weekly Wednesday evening classes are a cornerstone of Earth Center Pottery’s offerings, complementing its 10 other weekly classes. Her journey with pottery began in the 1970s during high school, and her decades of experience shine through in her teaching and creations. At the studio, Corinne and fellow instructors guide students of all levels in crafting wheel-thrown and hand-built pieces, perfect for home and garden decor.

Earth Center Pottery is part of the Tyler Park Center for the Arts, a vibrant hub that hosts workshops, the annual Members Art Show, Free Community Days, and the prestigious Crafts in the Meadow festival. Corinne’s dedication to her craft and her students embodies the spirit of creativity and community at the studio in Richboro. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a beginner, Earth Center Pottery offers a welcoming space to explore this ancient art, fostering a deep connection to both the past and the planet.
